Check out the newest member to the Old Mout Cider family! Looks pretty good doesn't she?
Nothing beats popping the cork on a bottle of bubbles and now cider lovers can enjoy the same pleasure thanks to a stylish and convenient product which is the first of its kind for a New Zealand company.
Old Mout Cider’s four award-winning cider varieties are now available in 750ml ‘champagne’ bottles with resealable Zork corks as a premium alternative to wine.
The 750ml ‘champagne’ bottle has long been popular in Europe with premium cider brands. They are designed for people who want something a little more classy – perhaps to take to BYO restaurants or for celebratory occasions.
The clever new stopper (what they call a Zork Cork) comes in handy if you want to save some cider for later and keeps the fizziness where it belongs – in the bottle. Even better, the cap’s a no-brainer to use, just peel, twist, lift and pour, then press again to reseal. Beauty.
As you might know, we’re a homegrown ‘indie’ cidery that’s been working pretty hard on our cider for over 60 years, but we’re always exploring new ways to make it even better. With some saying this has been the ‘summer of cider’, it seemed only right we take out all the stops (excuse the pun) to bring you this clever new bottle.
Our sleek new 750ml resealable bottle is in keeping with our new look which was unveiled in January, and is available from selected supermarkets (RRP$13.99) from 1st March 2011 in the following varieties:
- Boysencider (an ingenious union of refreshing apple cider with succulent boysenberry wine)
- Feijoa & Cider(a delectable apple cider, combined with zingy fruit wine from feijoas)
- Classic Apple (a light, clear cider with a crisp finish –previously labelled as Cidre)
- Scrumpy (a gutsy apple flavour and packing a fair wallop)
So that’s about it. All that’s left for you to do now is kick back, pop a bottle of Old Mout Cider and reflect on the good times – those you’ve had, and those yet to come…. But most importantly, the times we’re having right now.

The bottles look great, but are the 1.25L bottles still advailable?
The cost is the same but you are loosing 500ml
Hi Barry. Thanks for your question. Yip we are still keeping the 1.25L PET bottles. The reason they cost the same is the new 750ml bottle is glass to keep the cider cooler and crisper for longer. Not to mention the snazzy re-sealable Zork cork that helps the cider keep its fizz. Cheers.
