NELSON, October 2011: New Zealand’s most awarded cider, Old Mout Cider, is cementing its place as a genuine cider for cider lovers by bagging another haul of medals at six prestigious competitions in the last couple of month.
This is the second year running Old Mout Cider has picked up a truck-load of national and international awards, thanks to their focus on innovation, quality and taste.
At the beginning of August, Old Mout Cider received five medals at the largest independent wine competition in United States – the Indy International Wine Competition.
And the list goes on, as there are six more awards from this year’s Fruit Wine & Cider makers of New Zealand’s national awards, another five earned at the Brew NZ Awards , six at The IGA Perth Royal Wine Show and one at The Australian Cider Awards. Old Mout Scrumpy was also named the Best New Zealand Cider in the Beer & Brewer Magazine Awards and the Best Cider at the Fruit Wine & Cider Makers of New Zealand Awards. We think it’s pretty good!
New Zealanders currently consume 600ml of cider per person every year. But as more people discover this great alternative to beer and wine, the consumption is expected to rise to 2L per person, says Sales & Marketing Director of Old Mout Cider, Scottie Chapman.

Old Mout Ciders are available at supermarkets and various retail outlets throughout the country with RRP $11.99 for the 1.25L PET bottle and $15.99 for a 330ml 4-pack.
